Have you known someone who has kicked long term perscription drugs abuse without rehab?

mimi asked:

Please help! Good friend is messed up and parents have already sent him to rehab twice. He has no money and wants to get clean. Any suggestions.
I believe he has been taking oxy, percoset, vicadin……..opiates probably 5 to 8 per day for the last year. Was clean for 3 months after rehab last year. Thank you for all your help.
He is 25, works full time and doesn’t want to bother his parents for money . He got on some drug to help with cravings and withdrawl a few months ago. I let him borrow 600.00 to start that treatment but he couldn’t afford the 150.00 per week to keep up. Can he just do it on his own. It sounds easy to do to me. Just stop. But he says it really hurts his body and when the pain gets bad he goes back. Thanks again!

i have medical history of drug abuse, can I be an air force officer?

Jeff asked:

I have currently have a BS, but I have gone to a sort of out patient rehab for drug abuse at a specialized MD’s office. At the office I was prescribed medicine to get off the substance and I also wrote down every drug I have ever tried or done more than once, which im sorry to say is most of them. Im clean now, so I wanted to know if I could be an officer in the airforce or navy, My plan was to go to the recruiter and not say anything about it. I figured I mite get in but when applying for security clearance something like that could come back to haunt me. I am probably going to get laid off and want to join but dont know how or if I can get around the drug thing….thanks

Ex-boyfriend is a drug addict, Should I advice him to go to the rehab program? Or just leave it like that?

shadow asked:

Me and this guy were seeing each other on and off for about a year. He broke up with me last year. Since then we totally lost contact and ive been tried to txt him couple of time last year but he never reply. Almost a year gone by I still think about him sometimes and can’t help but wonder if he had got killed due to the drug abuse problem. My feeling for him as a girlfriend had changed as day goes by. Anywayz, should i still send him a message and ask if he ever think about admit himself to the drug rehab program or just leave him alone the rest of his life?

Prescription Drug abuse, what can I do legally?

zetty asked:

We live in TN. My mother is living with us. She abuses her prescriptions. She takes xanax, soma, and some kind of pain medicine. She is in a perpetual stupor and denies she has a problem. I’ve tried calling the ambulance, calling Drug Rehabs, Seeing a counselor and everyone says their hands are tied. As long as she can deny help legally no one can do anything. So legally I have to sit and watch her die. She has been a sever addict since I was born. 28 years. She’s irresponsible, irrational and such a victim. What do I do? Who can step in?
