I desperately need to get into a drug rehab center but I’d like to go to a fairly nice one. The problem is that they’re so expensive! I need to go atleast 42-60 days and would be willing to pay around $12,000 at the most. I’m looking for a place that has a gym and nice facilities and is in a tranquil setting that has had a lot of positive feedback. It doesn’t have to be in the United States.

I’m considering a career in substance abuse education, treatment, and prevention. I have just recently seen an episode on meth addicts and it basically painted a bleak picture for them. Some that are recovering or “rehabilitated” still fight the urges to go back to their habits on a daily basis and my question is this: even in this day and age with drug rehab clinics and focused attention on drug addiction is there really an effective program for those suffering? I don’t know anyone personally who has suffered just curious about this.

I dated a guy for over 2 1/2 years whom had been battling addiction to drugs. We were in a long-distance relationship, so I was not aware of how seriously he was involved & the extent of his using. As far as I knew, he was receiving psychiatric treatment & counselling and participating in a methadone program. Apparently he had an entire “secret” life I knew nothing about. I can only imagine the things he might have been involved in.

He and I are both addicts. Our drug of choice is Heroin. I’m on the Methadone program and it’s working for me. His use is ruining our relationship and it’s killing me. I love him so much. I worry that he’ll OD all the time. I’ve already had to give him CPR once. We’ve known people that have died. I asked my Mom if we could help him by paying for the Methadone treatment and taking him but my Mom doesn’t trust him to pay her back. She feels his parents should pay and I agree. He refuses to tell his parents! They know that he has had a problem and even took him to a 10 day state paid rehab that obviously didn’t work. I think he’s ashamed. I think they blame me ’cause I was a recovering Heroin addict when we first met and they think I introduced him to it but that’s not the case. A friend of his got me on it again and introduced him to it. It doesn’t matter. He needs help. SHOULD I TELL HIS PARENTS? COULD I TRUST THEM NOT TO TELL HIM THAT I TOLD THEM? HELP ME!

well i have two options i either go to rehab for 3-4 months for $27,000 being the only bread-winner in the household while my wife does nothing or i keep working do the outpatient thing and take methadone gradually reducing doses until the opiate addiction is gone. it is destroying my life financially and it’s destroying my life as far as my family goes too. oh and by the way my i have two children a 3 year old and a 4 month old. i know it’s my fault and i feel more guilt over the situation than you could possibly fathom but now it’s time to fix the problem so please don’t respond telling me how awful i am i just need insight on what others might do in my situation so the question is illustrated up above.

I have fought with a gambling problem, now, for three years. I’ve been told, by gamblers Annonymous, that I am beyond what they can do.
My body was barely starting puberty when I began taking massive amounts of drugs, and alcohol. Throw in the pubescent sexual-awareness tendencies that age brings about and the party-hard philosophy of the time(70’s), I’ve never been able to get enough pleasure. My brain is constantly trying to find ways to make me feel or not-feel. I spend every waking minute orally fixated with cigarettes, and go from coffee with 4 shots of esp. and a ton of sugar, to beer, whisky, soda, junkfood, candy, salts, spicy foods, etc. I’ve been doing crank for 25 years, it only calms me down, now. I’ve recently discovered the money isn’t why I gamble, it’s the adrenaline rush…which is stronger when I lose and the more I lose and the more devastating to my life it is, the bigger the rush. I know I need professional help,( no insur. tho).Is there a clinic?Anybody?

My name is Tracey, I have a 21 year old daughter who is taking prescription pain pills I just don’t know what to do so I will try and tell you as much as I know. two months ago is when we learned that she had been snorting oxycontin so we thought we good help her on our own i looked on the internet on things to do to help with the withdraws did what we had to do she does not live at home so we did not give her anymore money I did by her cigarettes I took her to see a counselor at my school she just went a couple of times. I thought maybe she was doing better she was over at our house took money from her brother, so we new she was still using confronted her says she will stop well than yesterday I went to her apt her and her boyfriend had been fighting he had money come up missing and she is still doing drugs from what I have been able to get out of her she started doing pains pill and smoking pot at age 12 . Me and my husband did not raise her to be like this I know she is a good person we have raised are children is church we do not do drugs,smoke, or drink do not allow it in our home as a parent you think were did I go wrong ,,,,,, she was over to the house yesterday being confronted with everything that she has done I have told her she has to make a choice between her family and the drugs that I think she can not do this on her own, she needs treatment we live in southern Ohio very small town with limited resources, she says I don’t want to go anywhere I will not know anyone. I think part of her wants help the last I talked to her last night things were left up in the air I hung up on her told her she needs to make a decision on what she is going to do she does not have any insurance for treatment my husband is a construction worker. I go to school full time, plus I trying to help my sister out she was just diagnosed with cancer so I have been taking her to her treatments and trying to handle things as best I can but I feel like I’m almost at my breaking point. I think there is also more going on with her I think she is taking other pills to and maybe doing things to get the pills I don’t think she is using needles but I’m afraid if something is not done soon that will be the next thing she will try. Imy husbands family over the last two years there as been drug addition he has two sister’s & a brother who are now serving 5to8 years in prison due to drug trafficking and my daughter tells me that when she was 12 thats when it started was with them, so if you can help me and my family in anyway I would appreciate it.
