Why is Al Gore’s son getting special treatment.?

His guilty plea to drug charges are withdrawn if he completes his drug treatment program.

Why doesn’t every other person ever convicted of drug or alcohol -related charges get the same deal?

Gore was charged with two felony counts of possession of a controlled substance, two misdemeanor counts of possessing a controlled substance without a prescription, one misdemeanor count of possession of marijuana and a traffic infraction.

Is it because Al Gore is rich, or is a politician or is a Global Warming preacher that his son gets away with his crimes?

I have a friend who’s going to get herself treated for her heroin addiction. I would like to suggest that she get herself treated with buprenorphine instead of methadone since buprenorphine seems far more appealing. This is why I would like to know if there are drug rehabs here that administer buprenorphine.
