How Do I Reformat a Sony Vaio EB Without a Recovery CD?
Question by josh: How do I reformat a Sony Vaio EB without a recovery CD?
I bought a Sony vaio EB last year and it did not come with a recovery CD. According to a bit of research, people just said press F10 on boot to select recovery option. Others said reformating without a recovery disc will make my laptop useless since it will not have windows 7 anymore. Can someone who own or know about sony vaio system tell me what to do? Will I have to purchase a windows 7 to reformat?

The computer will not allow you to reformat it by itself.
Buy and install the windows 7 disk and load. (easy way)
If you really want to reformat it, then remove the hard drive from the laptop, hook up to another computer, reformat (this part is difficult if it is your first time.)

Instructions
Things You’ll Need
Blank DVD-R, DVD+R, CD-R or CD-RW discs
1
Click “Start,” “All Programs, VAIO Recovery Center,” then “VAIO Recovery Center” again to launch the VAIO Recovery Center.
2
Select “Create Recovery Discs,” then click “Start.”
3
Close any open programs on the computer and click “Next” to proceed with the process.
4
Select whether you want to use DVDs or CDs to create the recovery disc set. The number of each type of discs appears in each option. Click “Next” after making your selection.
5
Insert the first blank disc, then click “Start.” Remove completed discs and insert new discs as instructed. Label each disc in the order it is completed. For example, the first disc could be Recovery Disc 1, the second disc could be Recovery Disc 2 and so on. Close the recovery program after receiving a message that all of the discs have been created.
