Does Medicare Part B Cover Inpatient Gambling Addiction Facilities?

Question by John: Does Medicare part B cover inpatient gambling addiction facilities?
Couldnt find the answer to this. Assuming the facility accepts Medicare, of course. I doubt I would have trouble getting it documented as “necessary” or whatever medicare would require. Also, what percentage if they do not cover it all. Facilities such as CORE, algamus, etc. Thank you!

Medicare Part B is for out-patient services. Part A is for in-patient services but gambling is not a medical conditon and would not be covered.

Not exactly.

Medicare part A covers hospitalization in a regular or psychiatric hospital (note, there’s a lifetime maximum number of days covered). Medicare part B covers doctors services, 80% of the medicare rate.

If your “treatment center” is not a hospital, and the “counselors” are not Medicare providers, you’re not going to have any coverage at all.

Where do calls go?

Calls to numbers on a specific treatment center listing will be routed to that treatment center. Calls to any general helpline will be answered or returned by one of the treatment providers listed, each of which is a paid advertiser: Rehab Media Group, Recovery Helpline, Alli Addiction Services.

By calling the helpline you agree to the terms of use. We do not receive any commission or fee that is dependent upon which treatment provider a caller chooses. There is no obligation to enter treatment.
