Santa Barbara doctor pleads guilty to federal drug charges
Julio Diaz pleads guilty to 11 counts stemming from prescriptions he wrote. At least 17 of his patients died of overdoses or related causes. A Santa Barbara doctor some patients called "the candy man" because he so freely prescribed painkillers and other commonly abused narcotics pleaded guilty Thursday to federal drug charges.
