Is Rehab a New Ticket Out of Trouble for Celebrities?

Question by cornerblitz13: Is rehab a new ticket out of trouble for celebrities?
It seems like these people could do whatever the hell they want, but as soon as they get caught, they just “go to rehab” and come out and be accepted by society. Are we being fooled by these rich high profile people? What would these people blame on if alcohol never existed? Case in point, Isiah Washington, Miss America, Gavin Newsome. Do these people take us as idots? Has this society gone mad?

I wouldn’t call it new exactly, but it does put some good PR out there to distract from whatever horror they said/committed etc….Society is still star struck even in this day and age. Many people refuse to believe that anyone who is pretty or famous and has money could possibly in reality be a horrible person. They believe what they see on the screen, they fall for the charm and the act.

Kind of gives me some respect for Hugh Grant for just fessing up to the whole hooker thing and not blaming booze etc….
