The Alcohol Rehab Program Nevada Really Needs Has Arrived

While 12-step programs work for many people, Nevada drug rehab centers have long called for alternative treatment methods in drug rehab. Las Vegas experts say that as little as two percent of all 12-step graduates truly benefit from a lifetime of sobriety, while other less accepted methods are producing results of 75 percent success in lifetime sobriety.

In an effort to incorporate more effective treatment methods into its Alcohol Rehab Program Nevada addiction specialists are calling for Nevada drug rehab centers to consider adopting the use of treatment methods that many 12-step adherents consider radical.

These treatment methods routinely produce successful treatment rates of 75 percent. This is in comparison to more conservative, 12-step-style programs, which typically produce success rates of two to 22 percent.

Results like this are important in a state that routinely averages 17,000 DUI and liquor violations per year.  What’s more, alcohol is usually a factor in the treatment of many addicts for more illicit drugs, such as cocaine, methamphetamine, etc.

One alcohol rehab program Nevada has recommended adopting treats alcoholism and drug abuse as a curable affliction, and not a chronic disease that one must learn to control. It places great importance on both detox and education. The education aspect comes in teaching the substance abuser the skills required to resist further lapses into alcohol abuse. A second level seeks to educate the user in how to handle challenging situations without relying on the bottle for an answer.

The treatment method in question also uses somewhat revolutionary detox methods. This includes dry sauna sessions to rid body tissues of toxins left behind by drugs and alcohol. These toxins frequently find their way back into the bloodstream where, it is believed, they have the potential to cause a relapse in the substance abuser.

Predictably, when it comes to alcohol and drug rehab, Las Vegas is the city most in need of new and innovative ways to treat drug and alcohol abuse. The ready availability of illicit substances requires having as many methods at hand to treat substance abuse as possible. Nevada drug rehab centers welcome these new methods because many repeat clients are clearly at the end of their treatment “rope.”  Traditional treatment methods have failed them time and again. Something new is required.

If you or a loved one is currently seeking treatment for alcohol or any form of drug abuse, be sure to do your homework. Do research on drug rehab. Las Vegas alone has scores of facilities and some may be better suited to treat your problem than others.
